Director of the London Summer School
- Ian Cox
Ian Cox studied at the University of Keele and
obtained his Master's degree at the University of London. A
specialist in the history of the decorative arts, Ian has worked in
Cambridge, Glasgow and London. In 1989 he joined the staff of the
History of Art Department at Glasgow University and between 1993 and
1997 he was Director of the Master's program in the History of the
Decorative Arts.
In 1998 he became Director of Studies which has
been in existence for more than 20 years. A regular visitor to
America, Ian ran the Christie's Dec. Arts Summer School program
in New York for four years and has regularly lectured for the VSA.
For 2 years Ian acted as historical consultant to the prestigious
Royal Crown Derby factory and recent publications include 'Royal Crown
Derby Paperweights' and 'Royal Crown Derby Imari Wares'. Ian was
a student on the London Summer School in 1992. He returns once again as
Director of the London Summer School after a temporary absence.
